Watercolor Workshop with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center AYA Program AYA Program

This event was open to cancer patients currently undergoing treatment and their caregivers, to provide a safe space to create without judgement or expectation, allowing freedom of expression. The goal was to allow the materials to combine in whichever way they do, simply with suggestion and guidance. What we did in this workshop became tools for participants to use to connect deeply to that creative core that that everyone of us has, and that is specific to us and who we are. It was both very personal and very universal. This experience was intended to be relaxing and freeing. The result was a beautiful few hours of painting, conversation, sharing of stories, laughter and a lot of silly jokes – a truly enjoyable combination of joy and reality.
