USC Norris Cancer Center and City of Hope Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Programs Retreat at Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times, Idyllwild, CA
I was honored when the program directors of the USC Norris Cancer Center Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program invited me to conduct watercolor workshops for their patients and City of Hope's, at the Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times in Idyllwild, September, 2024.
The workshops were joyful, calm, genial. Painting, talking, laughing, being silent, creating together with no pressure or pretense; connecting deeply with themselves and each other.

Watercolor Workshop with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center AYA Program AYA Program
This event was open to cancer patients currently undergoing treatment and their caregivers, to provide a safe space to create without judgement or expectation, allowing freedom of expression. The result was a beautiful few hours of painting, conversation, sharing of stories, laughter and a lot of silly jokes – a truly enjoyable combination of joy and reality.
